BMC updates for compliance with California Senate Bill 327 (SB327)
To equip our devices with reasonable security features to comply with California's Senate Bill No. 327, which took effect on January 1st 2020, new BMC firmware packages have been issued which require users to change their password after logging into their BMC for the first time.
Description:
- Change FRU size to 4K.
- User account setting sync.
- Enable Tyan boot logo.
- Disable KVM session timeout.
- Modify ddf file for fru format.
- Set redfish session timeout to 300s.
- Update Code base to V12.
Only socflash utility can be used for BMC firmware v2.05 upgrade due to the different binary file size. Future BMC firmware upgrade can be done via yafuflash/socflash/Web UI once BMC firmware has been successfully upgraded to v2.05.
Important!
The BMC firmware v2.05 requires 64MB BMC flash space. Deploy BMC firmware v2.05 to earlier B8037 system with 32MB BMC flash shall cause permanent system failure and the system cannot be revived in the field.
Please be sure to check the S/N of your B8037 system by reading FRU data under Product Information before updating to BMC firmware v2.05.
