Tyan has been collaborating with the No.1 cloud connectivity company since 2022. This renowned company is a leading global cloud platform provider that offers a wide range of network services to businesses of all sizes. At the core of its offerings is a highly-distributed Content Delivery Network (CDN) that utilizes edge computing to accelerate the delivery of websites, APIs, video content, and other web assets.

They were in search of a technical partner to provide a customized server platform for edge computing along with rack integration service. With preliminary product requirement, Tyan conducted intensive discussion with the customer, provided several configuration scenarios with associate simulation reports, finalize the product specification, and proceed platform design works. The edge compute servers are configured with 2U chassis, AMD EPYC™ 9004 processor, DDR5-4800 RDIMM, NVMe E1.s storage, and integrated in EIA 19" rack cabinets. These edge racks are deployed in 300+ datacenters worldwide to provide best service response time with minimal networking latency.

By leveraging Tyan's extensive experience in designing AMD EPYC servers, these edge servers are optimized to cache and serve content from locations closer to end users, reducing latency and improving overall performance. They are capable of performing advanced traffic optimization and security functions, such as intelligently routing requests, mitigating DDoS attacks, enforcing web application firewall rules, and even executing lightweight computing tasks at the edge, thus offloading work from origin servers.
